You probably have lots of questions about your cake! So I’ve put my most frequently asked questions and answers below. Click on any of the questions or scroll down for all the answers.
Are you registered & insured?
Yes! I hold a 5 star rating from North Kesteven District Council Food Standards Agency and am fully insured
How much will my cake cost?
I’ll need some information to give you an accurate quote. Your required cake date, whether you’ll be collecting or require delivery, how many your looking to serve, any design ideas, flavour requests and any dietary requirements. I can then check availability and give you a quote. If you’re looking for wedding cake please click here
Can you make me this exact cake?
The short answer is no. While I welcome you to send your design ideas, every cake is unique and made in my own style. When you send your design ideas across please let me know if there are any ‘must have’ features and I’ll do my best to accommodate. Decorating cakes is a creative art and each cake will be different and individual

Free delivery is available* within 5 miles of Swinderby including Witham St Hughes, Collingham, Eagle, Thorpe on the Hill, South Hykeham, North Hykeham, Scarle, Bassingham, Thurlby and Norton Disney. Delivery is limited to LN & NG postcodes only, subject to availability and arrangement
Alternatively, collection is from Swinderby, LN6 9LW by arrangement, Monday – Friday. Collection times are normally 4-6pm Monday, 9-10am & 4-6pm Tues – Friday

Can you cater for allergies, intolerances or vegan?
Yes! I can make your cake nut free, dairy free, gluten free, egg free or vegan.
IMPORTANT – While I’m happy to exclude certain ingredients as requested, I do not operate a free from kitchen. You should check with your guests whether they’re happy with the level of risk this may pose. There are lots of wonderful bakers that do operate free from kitchens and in some circumstances this may be a better option.
There may be a small surcharge as certain ingredients are more expensive and/or difficult to source
How can I safely transport & store my cake?
Please see my guide here
How long will my cake last?
I bake my cakes as close as possible to your collection/delivery date to ensure freshness. I advise a best before of 5 days – if your cake lasts this long before being eaten! Once cut you can keep your cake fresh by applying baking paper to any exposed cake, wrap and store in an airtight container, somewhere cool, dry and away from direct sunlight and any heat sources.
You can also freeze your cake – this is best done in slices ASAP and should be good for up to three months
How do I book?
Once you’re happy with your quote I request a non refundable deposit to book.
Please see my full terms & conditions here
Payment can be made by BACS – details will be on your order

Wedding Cake FAQ
How much will my cake cost?
The price of your cake will be dependent on a number of factors – to give you an accurate quote I’ll need to know the following information
- How many people are you looking to serve? Your quote will be based on wedding cake servings which are traditionally smaller than party servings. If you’re looking at serving your cake as part of your dessert please let me know when you enquire so I can quote accordingly
- How do you want your cake covered? Semi naked? Full buttercream? Or full fondant finish?
- How would you like your cake decorated? Either you can source your own floral decorations or I can do it for you – depending on what you’d like, there may be an additional cost, for example fresh flowers
- Does your cake need to be delivered to the venue to be set up? Tiered cakes will sometimes need to be transported in tiers and set up at the venue. Also, you may not want the anxiety that comes with transporting a wedding cake!
Things that won’t cost you any extra
- Because it’s a wedding! Outside of the above I don’t charge you any more ‘just because it’s a wedding’
- Your flavour choices. I have an extensive flavours list and I don’t charge any extra for these
Can I try some flavours before I book?
Absolutely! I offer a cupcake taster box of 6, maximum of 3 flavours for £10. This charge will then be taken off of your deposit when you book your wedding cake – minimum booking of £150 excluding delivery
How do I book?
Once you’re happy with your quote I ask for a non refundable deposit of 25% if your date is more than 3 months away. The balance is payable four weeks before. If your event is within four weeks the full balance is required at the time of booking
